Tech Tip: The Enterasys 7G-6MGBIC-B Uplink Module Minimum Firmware and Hardware Requirements

Minimum Firmware Requirement

Any DFE blade that has an uplink slot must be updated to firmware release 5.41.25 or higher 5.42.xx is recommended — before the 7G-6MGBIC-B module is installed.

If the firmware is not updated the result will be a boot error message on the CLI and in the Fault Log and the blade will fail Initialization Diagnostics:

Running Initialization Diagnostics...  FAILED
Unsupported Uplink Board Revision

Minimum DFE Blade Hardware Requirement

The 7G-6MGBIC-B uplink module has the following minimum DFE blade hardware requirements:
